Film Night | Spotlight on Banksy – 'Banksy in New York' and 'Exit Through the Gift Shop'

Join us on July 6 for a special spotlight on the street artist Banksy! This month, we are showing two great films that offer two unique perspectives on Banksy. 

Enjoy one film $10 or both for $15. AGA Members receive a discount. This screening is part of programming for our new exhibition From Warhol to Banksy. 

This event is open to all, however please note that the films are rated 14A.    

6pm | Banksy Does New York (2014, 79 Minutes)  

Banksy Does New York is a 2014 HBO documentary film directed by Chris Moukarbel about Banksy's project Better Out Than In. The documentary covers Banksy's one month residency in October 2013, in which the artist presented a new work of art daily in New York. 

8pm | Exit Through the Gift Shop (2010, 87 Minutes)

The story of how an eccentric French shopkeeper and amateur film-maker attempted to locate and befriend Banksy, only to have the artist turn the camera back on its owner. The film contains footage of Banksy, Shephard Fairey, Invader and many of the world's most infamous graffiti artists at work.

About the Exhibition

From Warhol to Banksy  invites visitors to view works of art that highlight the Pop Art Movement and the careers of some of the art world’s most iconic figures. This exhibition features works by artists Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Tom Wesselmann, Takashi Murakami, Banksy, and Mr. Brainwash.
