The Art Gallery of Alberta respectfully acknowledges that we are located in Treaty 6 Territory and Region 4 of the Metis Nation of Alberta. We respect this as the traditional and contemporary  land of diverse Indigenous Peoples including the Plains Cree, Woodland Cree, Beaver Cree, Nitsitapi/Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Anishinaabe/Saulteaux/Ojibwe and Dene Peoples. We also acknowledge the many Indigenous, Inuit and Métis people who make Alberta their home today.

Language Programs

Language programs at your AGA

Language programs at your AGA aim to foster community connection through language and art. Our programs provide an opportunity to learn about and discuss art, big ideas and current exhibitions in multiple languages including English, French and Spanish.

In addition, our programs support language acquisition and build confidence through discussion, reflection and the creative process. We utilize a Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) framework that centers individual curiosity and empowers learners to pursue their interests by viewing art in our Galleries or making art in the studio while honing their language skills.

Tours

Language tours are offered on a rotating schedule or by private booking. Join us on the first Saturday of the month, for public tours in French.

To book a private language tour in French or Spanish, please contact education@youraga.ca for pricing and availability.

School Programs and Art Classes

School programs are offered throughout the year in English, French and Spanish. Programming options are available for language learners.

Our next French art class will be on March 11-April 29 (no classes on April 1 and April 8).
