The Art Gallery of Alberta respectfully acknowledges that we are located in Treaty 6 Territory and Region 4 of the Metis Nation of Alberta. We respect this as the traditional and contemporary  land of diverse Indigenous Peoples including the Plains Cree, Woodland Cree, Beaver Cree, Nitsitapi/Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Anishinaabe/Saulteaux/Ojibwe and Dene Peoples. We also acknowledge the many Indigenous, Inuit and Métis people who make Alberta their home today.

AGA & EAC: Art Cart

Join us in the square for art explorations and fun! Each week, we explore new art materials and techniques!

Saturdays, 1-3pm

June 8-22, 2023

Free, all materials included

June 8 | Artist Trading Cards

Inspired by the Oilers’ cup run, work in watercolour and drawing media to illustrate a series of artist trading cards inspired by your favorite sports or summer activities. Artist Trading Cards or ATCs are miniature works of art and riff off baseball and hockey trading cards popularized in the early 20th century.

June 15 | Future Landscapes

From erosion to innovation, our environment changes over time. What will the world look like in the future? How will it be different from today? Mix and match illustration and collage techniques to create a multi-dimensional composition that shows your vision of the future.

June 22 | Mail Art

Inspired by the tradition of mailing out birthday cards and love notes, create your own mailable artwork. Send it by post or keep it for yourself! Mail Art is an artistic movement centred on sending small-scale artworks through the postal service and its start is credited to Ray Johson and the New York Correspondence School.
