Echoes of Earth and Sky: The Landscapes of William Percival Weston
The AGA is proud to present the first Alberta solo exhibition of the renowned Canadian artist, William P. Weston. Featuring a selection of over 25 works, the exhibition Echoes of Land and Sky showcases works created by the artist in the 1930s to the 1950s. Weston’s paintings reveal a unique approach to the study of mountain peaks, wind-sculpted trees, and the patterns of light on snow. His works are characterized by an attention to line, pattern, colour and movement. Considered to be an innovator of his time, Weston's visions of the western Canadian landscape captured its rugged beauty, vibrant colour and sense of earthy vitality.
This exhibition is organized by the Art Gallery of Alberta and curated by Catherine Crowston.
