The Art Gallery of Alberta respectfully acknowledges that we are located in Treaty 6 Territory and Region 4 of the Metis Nation of Alberta. We respect this as the traditional and contemporary  land of diverse Indigenous Peoples including the Plains Cree, Woodland Cree, Beaver Cree, Nitsitapi/Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Anishinaabe/Saulteaux/Ojibwe and Dene Peoples. We also acknowledge the many Indigenous, Inuit and Métis people who make Alberta their home today.

Our mandate

  1. Provide a point of entry to the AGA and current exhibitions that is accessible and equitable for people of all ages, experiences and capacities

  1. Foster problem solving, critical thinking and collaboration through play, discussion, hands-on process and reflection

  1. Create innovative and interactive experiences that build connections between ourselves, our students & our communities

The AGA Listening Lab

The AGA Listening Lab is a space to share knowledge, celebrate art and artists and connect with our communities. Within the listening lab, you will find audio tours of current AGA exhibitions, interviews, artful conversations, community storytelling, audio experiments, and more. Our audio content will be housed on our Soundcloud account - follow for more engaging content!

The Listening Lab is a part of a large strategic initiative that supports a blended learning environment both online and in-person for Albertans of all ages.
