The Art Gallery of Alberta respectfully acknowledges that we are located in Treaty 6 Territory and Region 4 of the Metis Nation of Alberta. We respect this as the traditional and contemporary  land of diverse Indigenous Peoples including the Plains Cree, Woodland Cree, Beaver Cree, Nitsitapi/Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Anishinaabe/Saulteaux/Ojibwe and Dene Peoples. We also acknowledge the many Indigenous, Inuit and Métis people who make Alberta their home today.

Art and Wine | Folk Art and Wine with Maud Lewis and Sidney Kelsie

This month Danielle Siemens will lead a tour of our current exhibitions which feature Canadian folk artists Maud Lewis and Sidney Kelsie. After the tour, we will be joined by Color De Vino who will lead a tasting of wine from Peak Cellars out of the Okanagan.

Winemaker Stephanie Stanley from Peak Cellars will present the selected wine. A true Okanagan native, Stephanie was born and raised in the Okanagan Valley and is well-experienced with all grape varieties in the region. She received a Bachelor of Science with Honours from Brock University’s Cool Climate Oenology and Viticulture program in 2003 where she was also awarded the President’s Medal.

Drop by Color de Vino before each event to purchase the wine we will be discussing and tasting. Participants in this virtual wine tasting will receive a discount on their wine from Color de Vino. The program will also be offered virtually on Zoom.

Registration to this event is free for AGA members or $10 per household. Purchase the wine here.

Philosophy of Color de Vino

We love what we do and we love what we sell. What matters most to us is that you love it too! As a family-owned and operated wine & spirits boutique in Edmonton, Alberta, we spend time talking to our customers. We know it’s all about lifestyle – the perfect wine with the perfect meal, the kinds of cocktails that are the hit of the party.

At Color de Vino, our philosophy is simple. We provide an interesting selection, balanced with a relaxed atmosphere and the highest level of friendly customer service.
