The Art Gallery of Alberta respectfully acknowledges that we are located in Treaty 6 Territory and Region 4 of the Metis Nation of Alberta. We respect this as the traditional and contemporary  land of diverse Indigenous Peoples including the Plains Cree, Woodland Cree, Beaver Cree, Nitsitapi/Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Anishinaabe/Saulteaux/Ojibwe and Dene Peoples. We also acknowledge the many Indigenous, Inuit and Métis people who make Alberta their home today.

agaVanitas

For the final session in our special Summer Sketch Series, join us at Elk Island National Park for a guided plein-air painting afternoon inspired by the artwork featured in RBC Work Room: Samantha Walrod-Vanitas. In this RBC Work Room project, Walrod is inspired by life and loss and paints still lives and animals. A short drive away from Edmonton, Elk Island National Park provides ample inspiration to paint your own canvas featuring nature scenes or animal life. Enjoy our closes National Park while you paint your canvas with the guidance of artist and AGA Educator, Roger Garcia.

Join us at Elk Island National Park at Astotin Lake Beach at 2 pm on August 25. We will have watercolour painting materials available to you.  Please reserve your free ticket here (link) to guarantee your spot.
