The Art Gallery of Alberta respectfully acknowledges that we are located in Treaty 6 Territory and Region 4 of the Metis Nation of Alberta. We respect this as the traditional and contemporary  land of diverse Indigenous Peoples including the Plains Cree, Woodland Cree, Beaver Cree, Nitsitapi/Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Anishinaabe/Saulteaux/Ojibwe and Dene Peoples. We also acknowledge the many Indigenous, Inuit and Métis people who make Alberta their home today.

Preview Party: Boarder X and Vernon Ah Kee: cantchant

Preview our newest exhibitions and watch pro skaters demo on a halfpipe specially built in Manning Hall at the exciting Preview Party for Boarder X and Vernon Ah Kee: cantchant. The public exhibition opening begins at 8:30 PM, featuring demos by Vans pro-skaters and a DJ set by Hood Joplin.

Boarder X features work by Indigenous artists that use snowboarding, skateboarding and surfing to demonstrate knowledge and relationships to the land. Vernon Ah Kee: cantchant is presented alongside Boarder X and explores similar notions of cultural identity and land claims.
