Members' Opening Reception: Boarder X and Vernon Ah Kee: cantchant

Preview our newest exhibitions and watch pro skaters demo on a halfpipe specially built in Manning Hall at the exciting opening reception for Boarder X and Vernon Ah Kee: cantchant. A special Members-only reception begins at 7 PM, followed by the public exhibition opening at 8:30 PM, featuring demos by Vans pro-skaters and a DJ set by Hood Joplin.

Boarder X  features work by Indigenous artists that use snowboarding, skateboarding and surfing to demonstrate knowledge and relationships to the land. Vernon Ah Kee: cantchant is presented alongside Boarder X and explores similar notions of cultural identity and land claims.
