The Art Gallery of Alberta respectfully acknowledges that we are located in Treaty 6 Territory and Region 4 of the Metis Nation of Alberta. We respect this as the traditional and contemporary  land of diverse Indigenous Peoples including the Plains Cree, Woodland Cree, Beaver Cree, Nitsitapi/Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Anishinaabe/Saulteaux/Ojibwe and Dene Peoples. We also acknowledge the many Indigenous, Inuit and Métis people who make Alberta their home today.

ArtBreak: Paint! Paint! Paint!

Learn 3 different paint media – all, toxic free and water-soluble! Painting with tempera paint, acrylic and watercolours, learn the fundamentals of colour theory and try out the possibilities of each media. Discover the special qualities that each material offers and secret tips on how to use them. Be inspired by colour + light in the artworks in James Wilson Morrice: The A.K. Prakash Collection in the Trust to the Nation, an internationally renowed master painter, and in Li Salay, an exhibition themed on the sun and celebrating Metis art!
