Join us for the December edition of our Community Tour Series which invites a new speaker each month to lead a tour of a current exhibition, giving our audience a unique perspective on the artwork on display. This month we are thrilled to welcome back Amber Paquette, Edmonton’s Historian Laureate to lead a tour of the exhibition “Here I am – Can you see Me?” By George Littlechild.
Here I am – Can you See Me? features a series of 22 drawings of First Nations children who may have perished while attending residential school in Maskwacis, AB. The exhibition gives remembrance, recognition, honour and validation to the thousands of innocent children who lost their lives in the residential school system.
You can participate in this hour-long program both in-person and online through watching our Zoom livestream. Registration is required for guests attending in person; due to the space limitations registration is limited. This artist talk is included in the price of general admission to the gallery or free for members. The livestream of the artist talk is free and will require advance registration as well.
Here I am – Can you see Me? is curated by MJ Belcourt Moses and presented by Capital Powered Art, an exhibition series sponsored by Capital Power.
