Zimra Beiner (b.1985 Toronto, ON) received a BFA from NSCAD University in 2009 and an MFA from Alfred University in 2012. His work has been exhibited internationally, including solo exhibitions at Hostler Burrows Gallery, Cross Mackenzie Gallery, Craft Ontario and group exhibitions at the Gardiner Museum, Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, Katzen Museum at American University, The Hole, David Winton Bell Gallery at Brown University, and Katharine E. Nash Gallery at the University of Minnesota. He’s attended numerous residencies including The Berlin Ceramics Centre, Private Studio Jingdezhen, China, and The Center for Contemporary Ceramics at California State University Long Beach. He’s also been the recipient of awards including The Winnifred Shantz Award and The NCECA Emerging Artist Award. He is currently Assistant Professor in Ceramics at Alberta University of the Arts in Calgary, Canada and lives between Calgary and Los Angeles.
