Edmonton based visual artist Miguel Matthews was born in Guyana, South America. He grew up in New York and then later moved to Edmonton, Alberta to be closer to his immediate family. He started his art journey from the age of 9, he taught himself how to draw comics. Then later progressed with different mediums like watercolour, acrylic ,spray paint, airbrush, oil paint, and ink on skin. All the whilst learning and exploring different techniques to build his skills. He enjoys working with oil paint, spray paint as well as working with individuals to create their tattoos. He continues to challenge himself by painting a variety of subjects in any medium. He is a multifaceted individual who is passionate about being creative. With hard work and dedication to his artistic endeavours, this self taught creator is unstoppable.
