Kasia Sosnowski is an artist from southern Alberta. Her work focuses on how clay embodies ideas around care, fragility, and transformation. She draws from individual experiences as a means to explore ideas around transgressive bodies, grief, recovery, and trauma. Her use of absurdity and humour are methods to cultivate access and intimacy. She is currently living in Tkaronto, Ontario where she graduated from the Master of Fine Arts program at York University in May 2023.
The Art Gallery of Alberta respectfully acknowledges that we are located in Treaty 6 Territory and Region 4 of the Metis Nation of Alberta. We respect this as the traditional and contemporary land of diverse Indigenous Peoples including the Plains Cree, Woodland Cree, Beaver Cree, Nitsitapi/Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Anishinaabe/Saulteaux/Ojibwe and Dene Peoples. We also acknowledge the many Indigenous, Inuit and Métis people who make Alberta their home today.
