Jennifer Poburan holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta, and exhibits her paintings as a professional artist in Edmonton. Her portfolio explores ideas around growth and decay in local natural environments, and is expressed physically through patterns of layering and mixed media approaches to the canvas. Poburan has extended her practice through the field of teaching, as well as with other endeavours like providing court sketches to the media. She aims to make an impact in her community through her various roles as artist, teacher, and collaborator. When she is not working in her studio or teaching, she enjoys time well spent with her husband and one-year-old daughter
