Jen studied at the SFU School for the Contemporary Arts in Vancouver’s downtown east side. She graduated with a BFA in Dance and has worked professionally as an independent dance artist and a touring member of Compaigni V’ni Dansi, providing educational tours in traditional Métis dance and acting in theatrical plays for young audiences designed to engage kids in Métis history. Jen views art as a tool for change and believes in its integral role as a part of Canadian cultural identity. As an educator, expression is a key focus for Jen. She believes strongly in creating a supportive environment for learning and encourages freedom to play. Jen delights in fostering young minds to develop their original state of being: creative.
The Art Gallery of Alberta respectfully acknowledges that we are located in Treaty 6 Territory and Region 4 of the Metis Nation of Alberta. We respect this as the traditional and contemporary land of diverse Indigenous Peoples including the Plains Cree, Woodland Cree, Beaver Cree, Nitsitapi/Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Anishinaabe/Saulteaux/Ojibwe and Dene Peoples. We also acknowledge the many Indigenous, Inuit and Métis people who make Alberta their home today.
