Early in our marriage my wife, Colleen, and I took frequent trips to Banff and Jasper. They were just short two or three day trips during which we’d sleep in the back of our old Ford Econoline van, and live off of sandwiches made from gummy white bread slathered with mayo and liverwurst … glorious! We’d meander through the town sites and surrounding areas drinking in the sights and sounds of the mountains. On one such visit to Jasper we were wandering around town and as fortune would have it I came upon this old church bathed in wonderful light. I was particularly drawn to all the repeating shapes in the crosses and roof lines and thus concentrated on those.
