The Art Gallery of Alberta respectfully acknowledges that we are located in Treaty 6 Territory and Region 4 of the Metis Nation of Alberta. We respect this as the traditional and contemporary  land of diverse Indigenous Peoples including the Plains Cree, Woodland Cree, Beaver Cree, Nitsitapi/Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Anishinaabe/Saulteaux/Ojibwe and Dene Peoples. We also acknowledge the many Indigenous, Inuit and Métis people who make Alberta their home today.

Volunteer

Give the gift of your time to help run programs and events

Volunteers are a valued and important part of the AGA. Through their work, we are able to raise money to:

  • maintain the galleries, exhibition and education programming
  • deliver the highest level of excellence in our education programming
  • steward donors
  • create positive AGA memories
  • support all of the work the AGA offers to our community

We ask that volunteers commit 30 hours per calendar year to the AGA.

Once volunteers have completed 30 hours of service in a year, they are entitled to receive a complimentary individual membership.

The minimum age for volunteering at the AGA is 16.

Volunteers have the opportunity to work in a variety of areas in the gallery.

All volunteers with the AGA are required to undergo a police security check.

To manage the gallery’s volunteers more effectively, we have created an online "My Volunteer Page" through Better Impact Software. We are excited about this, as it provides a new opportunity to better serve new and existing volunteers at the gallery!

To sign up for volunteering, please fill out an application form by following the link below.
