The Art Gallery of Alberta respectfully acknowledges that we are located in Treaty 6 Territory and Region 4 of the Metis Nation of Alberta. We respect this as the traditional and contemporary  land of diverse Indigenous Peoples including the Plains Cree, Woodland Cree, Beaver Cree, Nitsitapi/Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Anishinaabe/Saulteaux/Ojibwe and Dene Peoples. We also acknowledge the many Indigenous, Inuit and Métis people who make Alberta their home today.

Today is Canada Day and the AGA is open 11-5pm.

As visitors join us for this national holiday, it is also a day to acknowledge the work to be done towards truth and reconciliation. To that end, today will be regular admission as we chose to provide complimentary admission on June 20th in celebration of National Indigenous History Month and National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21. The AGA believes in the power of art to teach and communicate and we invite you to explore the featured works which speak to Indigenous history and the legacies of the residential school system, including an image from our fall exhibition, George Littlechild: Here I am - Can you see Me? sponsored by Capital Power.
