Visit times vary by guest but on average one to two hours. Some guests stop in on their lunch, others take their time reading exhibition information and chatting with gallery attendants for deeper insights.

Kids are always welcome at the AGA. Strollers are welcome and we are a breastfeeding-friendly facility. In the interest of public health and safety, the children’s gallery Animal Architects is currently limited to one family per day. Please book ahead of your visit to reserve a day for you and your family to enjoy time in this gallery. This booking is included in the cost of General Admission.
Please admire, but do not touch the artwork. Please note that there are mandatory coat and bag check guidelines in place for the exhibition Tom Thomson: North Star. Learn more here.
Large items are not permitted in exhibition spaces. Please leave items such as large backpacks, umbrellas and musical instruments at home.
Silence cell phones.
Keep food and drink outside the exhibition spaces.
Take flash-free photos (if photography is allowed in the exhibition) for personal use and social sharing only. Selfie sticks, tripods and flashes are not permitted in exhibition spaces.
Please note we do not have water fountains on-site. Please bring your own (full) water bottle.
Sorry, balloons are not allowed in the AGA.
The AGA is wheelchair and stroller-friendly. Companion aids are always free. Complimentary wheelchairs and folding stools are available on request at Guest Services.
If there is a fire alarm or need to evacuate the building, please follow the directions of onsite staff, gather your immediate possessions and calmly exit the building. Gallery staff will escort you to the muster point.
If you require First Aid assistance please notify a staff member who will assist you.
