The Art Gallery of Alberta respectfully acknowledges that we are located in Treaty 6 Territory, the traditional land of diverse Indigenous Peoples including the Plains Cree, Woodland Cree, Beaver Cree, Nitsitapi/Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Anishinaabe/Saulteaux/Ojibwe and Dene Peoples. We also acknowledge the many Indigenous, Inuit and Métis people who make Alberta their home today.

Free Admission | Papal Visit and Journey to Reconciliation

From July 24 to 29, Pope Francis will visit Canada as a step toward Indigenous healing and reconciliation.

To mark the significance of this journey to reconciliation, the AGA is offering free admission on Sunday, July 24 and invites the public to reflect on our truth, history and commitment toward reconciliation.

All our exhibitions and shopAGA will be open. Visitors are invited to take in exhibitions featuring Indigenous artists, including Water-Wise, River Breath: Reframing design’s role with water, which explores our connection to water, and Comic Sans, which celebrates Canadian comic book artists. Free public tours of our current exhibitions are also available.
