Community Tour of 'Dance Party' by Jen Dunford

This month we welcome dancer and educator Jen Dunford to lead a tour of the exhibition Dance Party. This tour is happening during our monthly free night at the AGA, which happens the last Thursday of the month from 4-7pm. 

You can participate in this Free hour-long program in-person; registration is recommended. 

About the Speaker 

Jen Dunford is an independent dance artist based in Amiskwacîwâskahikan (Edmonton). She holds a BFA degree in dance from Simon Fraser University and received professional training with Rosario Ancer of Flamenco Rosario. She has worked professionally for Compaigni V’ni Dansi, Vinok Worldance and Cuban Movements and as an independent dance artist with Mile Zero Dance, Jen Mesch Dance Conspiracy and Harmonic Flamenco. She has presented choreographed works for the Vancouver Biennale, Orchesis Motif, Nextfest and IGNITE! Festival. Jen currently works an educator at the AGA and is a sessional instructor at Concordia University of Edmonton. Jen views art as a tool for change and believes in its integral role as a part of Canadian cultural identity. Her mission is to preserve cultural legacies through the practice of performance.   

About Dance Party: Dance Party  embraces the blending of art, dance and choreography and explores movement as a method of claiming space and affirming a sense of belonging through one’s own body.
