Cinema for Seniors | 'Loving Vincent'

Join us on January 13 for a special Cinema for Seniors screening of Loving Vincent (2017). This film program is dedicated to seniors and is followed by a friendly group discussion with tea and treats. Loving Vincent is the first fully handpainted film about the life and death of Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh. The film will be screened in our Ledcor Theatre in English.

This program is 2 hours in length; the film is 90 minutes long followed by a 30-minute discussion. If you are a senior looking to partake in art experiences and meet fellow lifelong learners, this program is for you. This program is included in admission, but we suggest a $5 donation to the Gallery for supporting AGA programming, education and exhibitions.

2pm | Loving Vincent (2017) | 95 Minutes – Rated 14A

Loving Vincent is about the life of the painter Vincent van Gogh, and the circumstances of his death. It is the first fully painted animated feature film in history, directed by Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman. Each of the film's 65,000 frames is an oil painting on canvas, created using the same techniques as Van Gogh by a team of 125 artists drawn from around the globe. It won Best Animated Feature Film Award at the 30th European Film Awards and was nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 90th Academy Awards.
