Carol Ljuden graduated from Emily Carr College of Art and Design (honours) and received her MFA in painting from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 1989, where she was a finalist for the Massachusetts Fine Arts Fellowship Award. Returning to Canada in 2000, she received memberships in the Alberta Society of Artists, Society of Canadian Artists and Federation of Canadian Artists. Ljuden is currently based in Edmonton and feels a connection to the Canadian landscape. Her work endeavours to lead the viewer on a shared journey into fields, hills and shaded trees. She has shown at the Los Angeles Art Fair, Diefenbaker Center Library, The Prairie Art Gallery, The Calgary Stampede, The Whyte Museum and many other galleries and international juried exhibitions. Her work is in private collections and those of the AFA and Strathcona County.
