The Art Gallery of Alberta respectfully acknowledges that we are located in Treaty 6 Territory and Region 4 of the Metis Nation of Alberta. We respect this as the traditional and contemporary  land of diverse Indigenous Peoples including the Plains Cree, Woodland Cree, Beaver Cree, Nitsitapi/Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Anishinaabe/Saulteaux/Ojibwe and Dene Peoples. We also acknowledge the many Indigenous, Inuit and Métis people who make Alberta their home today.

Pride Month 2022

The AGA is happy to offer Pride programming throughout the month of June:

June 9 | Pride Film Screening | But I'm a Cheerleader and Moonlight

Join us on June 9 for a special Pride screening of two iconic films: But I’m a Cheerleader at 6pm and the Oscar-winning film Moonlight at 8pm. We will be screening both films in our Ledcor Theatre. You can watch one or the other or make a night of it and watch both. Learn more and register here.

June 18 | Pride Day at the AGA

Join us on Saturday, June 18 for a fun-day of fun celebrating Pride and the LGBTQ2SIA community.

We will be painting the AGA rainbow with art activities for all, giant colouring for the kids, music, drag performances and two film screenings—all included in the general admission!

We will be screening Love Simon (PG) at 12:30pm in English, and Tomboy (PG) in French with English subtitles at 3pm.

We will be joined by a number of community organizations who will be onsite to further animate the day.

All galleries will be open, including the newly opened Comic Sans exhibition, which celebrates Canadian comic book artists. Get admission here.
