Declare your love!! Join us and our community partners on the terrace throughout the summer for a special performance series on the stage of Love Empire, an installation by Calgary artist August Klintberg.

About the Artwork: Consisting of a barebones stage, a basic PA system and a secret compartment, Love Empire creates a space for public proclamations of love, admiration, passion and emotion. This interactive installation was originally commissioned as part of the Alberta Biennial of Contemporary Art 2005 and later acquired by the National Gallery of Canada in 2007. For this special presentation on our Terrace, August Klintberg reimagines this work through a new iteration coinciding with the AGA’s 100th-anniversary celebrations.

*In the event of inclement weather, we will move all performances into the AGA.
