Join us on September 22 for an exclusive after-hours 18+ event in celebration of our exhibition From Warhol to Banksy. This exhibition invites visitors to view some iconic artworks from the careers of some of the art world’s largest figures, including Banksy, Andy Warhol, Takashi Murakami and Roy Lichtenstein. For this edition of AGA After Dark, we will have have art activities inspired by mysterious artist Banksy.

This late-night event is a perfect time to visit the gallery with your friends, grab a drink at our bar, try your hand at making your own Banksy-inspired artwork and get late night access to this Iconic exhibition. We will also have three other exhibitions to enjoy, including a solo exhibition by Kenzie Housego, a group exhibition about Alberta Ceramics, and a group exhibition about early botanical photography.

Tickets are $30 for the General Public, or $27 for Members (login to AGA website to access Members pricing).

This is the continuation of a previous program called ‘AGA Goes POP’ which highlighted Warhol.

Tickets are limited.  Please note that this is an adults-only program.

About From Warhol to Banksy: Pop Art - known for its commentary on consumerism, social consciousness, and, more recently, activism - is not just a phenomenon of the 1960s. The evolution of Pop Art, from Andy Warhol’s infamous Marilyn Monroe screen prints to Banksy’s guerilla street art, has completely blurred the lines between high and low art. Through a selection of prints, paintings, sculpture, and ephemera, visitors will see first-hand how Pop Art continues to critique our world and challenges us to think about the issues that persist in our everyday life.

From Warhol to Banksy is organized and circulated by the Kelowna Art Gallery. Curated by Christine May. Courtesy of the Paul and Tracy Mitchell Collection.
