Evan Robinson

Evan Robinson Photo

Evan Robinson (b. 1999) is a proud member of the Nisga'a First Nation from the Pacific Northwest Coast. Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Robinson merges the urban and the traditional, frequently incorporating street art techniques such as paste-ups and spray painting alongside more conventional practices like printmaking and sign painting. His unique blend of artistic methods reflects a deep engagement with his cultural heritage, particularly in how he brings Nisga’a creation stories into a modern context. Through his work, Robinson fosters a conversation between the age-old stories of his First Nation and the experiences of contemporary life, bridging the gap between past and present.

In 2024, Robinson completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Alberta, where he honed his interdisciplinary approach to art. His work has been featured in several notable exhibitions, including “Fields" at Access Gallery in Vancouver, BC, and “Self-ish" at the Stollery Gallery in Edmonton, AB. Robinson continues to explore themes of identity, cultural history, and the evolving relationship between tradition and modernity.
