Join YEG TheComeUp (TCU) and the AGA for a special Black History month Film Program presentation featuring the film Summer of Soul. This film night is guest programmed by YEG TheComeUP, and is followed by a panel talk after the screening of the documentary.
Admission to this program is $10 for General Admission and $5 for seniors & students. This screening is part of the AGA’s programming for Black History Month. Please note that the film is rated PG.
Summer of Soul (2021) - 117 Minutes)
Summer of Soul (2021) is an American independent documentary film about the 1969 Harlem Cultural Festival, directed by Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson in his directorial debut. It had its world premiere at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award in the documentary categories. The Harlem Cultural Festival featured performers such as Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone, and Sly and the Family Stone.
