Community Tour of 5 Artists 1 Love’s Black History Month Art Show by Darren Jordan

Join us for the February edition of our Community Tour Series which invites a new speaker each month to lead a tour of a current exhibition, giving our audience a unique perspective on the artwork on display. This month we are excited to welcome back 5 Artist 1 Love’s Darren Jordan to lead a tour of their annual Black History Month exhibition featuring the work of Brett Miles, Diana Ohiozebau, Messanie Raphael, Ola Bolarinwa, Ore Dipe and many artists who contributed to The Wall exhibition in our Community Gallery. This tour is happening during our monthly free night at the AGA, which happens the last Thursday of the month from 4-7pm.

About Darren Jordan | Curator and Producer

Born in the UK, Darren immigrated to Canada with his Family in 1975 at the age of eight. In his home, he was taught to appreciate the beauty and diversity of other cultures as well as what they had to offer. He believes that food, music, dance and art are conduits to such exploration. This is reflected in his work, which often incorporates a great deal of colour & expression with some graphic elements.

Through 5 Artists 1 Love Darren has worked at bringing together various artistic disciplines within the “Black Community” under one accessible network. He was quoted saying,” If you can’t find a scene or there is no scene, then you make a scene.”
