The AGA is open on Canada Day and is offering half-price admission. We invite the public to reflect on our truth and history as part of our commitment toward reconciliation.
All our exhibitions will be open—visitors are invited to take in exhibitions featuring Indigenous artists, including Water-Wise, River Breath: Reframing design’s role with water, which explores our connection to water, and Comic Sans, which celebrates Canadian comic book artists. Learn more about our exhibitions here.
While we reflect, we also celebrate multiculturalism and diversity in our country. At 2:30pm, join us in the Manning Hall for an hour of dance taught by Cherelle George of Socafit, who will teach everyone Caribbean and Soca dance moves while listening to Soca, Calypso, and Dancehall. Get ready to join the party and dance with us. This class was programmed in connection with our current exhibition Pay de Devil - Brang! Brang! - Pay de Devil by Curtis Talwst Santiago. The exhibition documents the stories about Trinidadian carnival that Santiago grew up with, and celebrates the processions, stories and characters of J’ouvert, the start of carnival.
