Jeff Collins
Jeff Collins is a fixture in the Edmonton arts scene. He has been painting for more than 18 years and has developed an extensive body of landscape and abstract work. He has exhibited widely in Alberta and has a long history of involvement in Edmonton’s arts community, helping to establish ArtsHab 1 and its gallery, as well as working with the Alberta Craft Council, the Works Art and Design Festival and more. In 2013 Jeff was the first official City of Edmonton departmental artist in residence at the Westwood Central Services yard with the Urban Forestry department, where he had opportunities to follow the City’s urban foresters on field trips as they prune, plant, and maintain Edmonton’s trees and green spaces. In this residency, he was able to do a combination of traditional oil paintings on location with the foresters, as well as a parallel body of abstract work.
