Ashley Thimot is a Canadian artist currently residing in Edmonton, Alberta. Born in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, she displayed her artistic flair at an early age, drawing in books and on the walls and baseboards of her mother’s house.
In 2003, Ashley pursued her passion for the arts by studying fine arts at Mount Allison University. After a year, she shifted her focus and earned an undergraduate degree in design from NSCAD University in 2007. Following graduation, Ashley moved across the country to the West, where she worked in the design field until the spring of 2021. It was then that she fully committed to her dream of becoming an artist, dedicating herself to painting and illustrating in her home studio. Her work reflects the beauty found in everyday neighbourhood environments. In 2024, Ashley had her illustration debut with the release of her first children’s book, “Snow Day”, written by her best friend Lindsay Gloade-Raining Bird.
When she’s not creating, Ashley enjoys spending time with her husband, Rob, and their daughters, Rose and Daphne, alongside their two dogs and cat. She also loves to cook, indulges in reality TV, and adores time with family and friends.
