We also acknowledge the many Indigenous, Inuit and Métis people who make Alberta their home today.

CREATE | Indigenous Arts Market - kanihtâwihtahk kîkway ᑲᓂᐦᑖᐃᐧᐦᑕᕁ ᑮᑲᐧᕀ

Sponsored by

The I.A.M. Collective (Indigenous Art Market Collective) and the Art Gallery of Alberta invite you to a special weekend market on July 29 and 30 celebrating local Indigenous talent. This market is named CREATE, which in Cree is kanihtâwihtahk kîkway, ᑲᓂᐦᑖᐃᐧᐦᑕᕁ ᑮᑲᐧᕀ (translating to "When Something is Given Life”).

I.A.M. Collective is an Indigenous arts collective of more than 70 First Nations, Metis and Inuit artists who promote authenticity over appropriation by providing a place for market-goers to purchase authentic, local Indigenous art (beading, handcrafts, artwork). To learn more about I.A.M, please visit their website.

This market is taking place in the entrance of the AGA and is free to experience and shop. You can enjoy the gallery for the price of general admission. The AGA is free for students and youth all year long. Learn more about our current exhibitions here. We hope you will join us to see the amazing creations by these talented artists.

This market is presented by Canadian Western Bank as part of our Empowering Arts & Business Market Series.
