About the Film:
Established over a century ago, Vancouver’s Chinatown is a recognized National Historic Site of Canada, and its residents have lived and been active participants in much of the city’s history. With many changes, new developments, and the arrival of non-Chinese businesses, residents are experiencing this evolution firsthand, some preserving historical buildings while others see these changes as threats to their livelihood and choosing to leave. This documentary follows a year in the life of this neighborhood and shines a light on a few of the business owners in the area as well as some artists, all working to highlight the history and cultural importance of this neighborhood.
