We also acknowledge the many Indigenous, Inuit and Métis people who make Alberta their home today.

3rd Annual Pride Day at the AGA

Join us on Thursday, June 27 as the AGA is celebrating Pride and the 2SLGBTQIA+ community with a fun-filled day from 11 to 7pm.

We are showing our colours and opening our arms to the community with a pride market, a drag workshop, a film screening as well a special animation of the performance art piece ‘Love Empire’.

New this year is our Pride Market presented by Canadian Western Bank, featuring local artists, makers, and entrepreneurs from the 2SLGBTQIA* community. This market will feature amazing goods such as artworks, prints, jewelry, homewares, candles and beauty products, made by the Queer and Trans Community. We will also be joined by community/Pride organizations who do great work in Edmonton.

We hope you can join us!  The cost of this event is the same as our general admission. As always, the AGA is free for students (with valid student ID), youth and members. Admission for adults is $14 dollars or $10 for seniors.

Activities and Programs will be running at different times during the day from 11 to 5pm:

11am:  Art Activities and Market in Main Hall

1pm and 2pm: Drag performances  in Main Hall

3pm: Small Town Pride film screening in Ledcor Theatre (PG) English, Included in admission.

About the film: Small Town Pride offers an intimate look at the joys and challenges of being queer in a small town. Filmed in Alberta, Nova Scotia and the Northwest Territories, the film follows LGBTQ2S+ people and allies as they prepare for their local Pride celebrations. Organizing in church basements, classrooms and around kitchen tables, they take on a conservative town council that won't fly a rainbow flag and bend some rules to create a safe space for youth to come out. But despite experiences of isolation and discrimination, they love their communities and strive to make them places where everyone, no matter who and how they love, can live and thrive.
