The Art Gallery of Alberta respectfully acknowledges that we are located in Treaty 6 Territory and Region 4 of the Metis Nation of Alberta. We respect this as the traditional and contemporary  land of diverse Indigenous Peoples including the Plains Cree, Woodland Cree, Beaver Cree, Nitsitapi/Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Anishinaabe/Saulteaux/Ojibwe and Dene Peoples. We also acknowledge the many Indigenous, Inuit and Métis people who make Alberta their home today.

Thank you to our sponsors and supporters

As we reflect upon the last year and our current closure, we wanted to take a minute to thank all of our funders and sponsors for their support. We have remarkable supporters who share our belief that the visual arts in Alberta are an important part of our shared culture.

There has been a lot going on behind the scenes while we were closed, including the installation of new exhibitions: The Scene, Black Every Day; Jude Griebel: Barn Skull; Anna Hawkins: Blue Light Blue; and Art of Reflection). We have also installed some new technology, including AV and security upgrades, to ensure we have the needed equipment to bring you guest Wi-Fi, to ensure high quality AV in all our public spaces, and to continue creating content to engage with our audiences digitally. We have fostered strong partnerships with other organizations to create new programs and develop unique ways for our visitors to experience art in-person and at home. Thank you to Canadian Heritage and Alberta Tourism and Culture for their funding that has enabled the AGA to implement significant technological upgrades to improve our capabilities to work digitally.
