The Art Gallery of Alberta respectfully acknowledges that we are located in Treaty 6 Territory and Region 4 of the Metis Nation of Alberta. We respect this as the traditional and contemporary  land of diverse Indigenous Peoples including the Plains Cree, Woodland Cree, Beaver Cree, Nitsitapi/Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Anishinaabe/Saulteaux/Ojibwe and Dene Peoples. We also acknowledge the many Indigenous, Inuit and Métis people who make Alberta their home today.

Community Tour of 'From Warhol to Banksy' with the Visual Arts Student Assocation (VASA)

We are excited to have partnered with the Visual Arts Student Association at the University of Alberta. These fine arts students will lead a tour of From Warhol to Banksy, which highlights the Pop Art Movement and the careers of some of the art world’s most iconic figures.

This tour is happening during our monthly FREE night at the AGA, which happens the last Thursday of the month from 4-7pm. Registration is recommended, but not required.

About VASA: VASA, The Visual Arts Student Association, is a student group at the University of Alberta managed and run by students in the Bachelor of Fine Arts program. It was first established as a means to raise funds for the Bachelor of Fine Arts Graduation Exhibitions, but has since evolved to also include other exhibitions and community events. Its current mandate is to advocate for students in the Bachelor of Fine Arts program and to create opportunities through which the research they undertake in their studios can be brought forward to the community. VASA strives to promote the visual arts within the university and the greater Edmonton community.

About Community Tours: Our Community Tour series invites a new speaker each month to lead a tour of a current exhibition, giving our audience a unique perspective on the artwork on display.
