Adult Drop-in Studio: Collographic Printmaking

Wire, cloth, metal, and plastic are all materials we can use in collographic printmaking. Visits to the exhibition Li Salay (michif for ‘The Sun’), is the first exhibition of the work of Métis artists from across Canada. Li Salay will fuel us with imagery and material possibilities as we explore the theme of  “sun” in our printmaking.

Film Night | ôtênaw (2017) & Hands of History (1994)

ôtênaw is a film by Edmonton-based Métis filmmaker Conor McNally. The film follows Dr. Dwayne Donald on a walking tour of amiskwaciwâskahikan (Edmonton) and discussing the history of the land and its inhabitation.

Hands of History follows four female First Nations artists, Doreen Jensen, Rena Point Bolton, Jane Ash Poitras and Joane Cardinal-Schubert, revealing how women and art play a role in maintaining cultural voice.
