Bios

Kristine Owen Wood is a Hatha and Vinyasa Flow/Power instructor previously based in Vancouver, Canada, who relocated to her hometown of Edmonton, Alberta in Spring 2017. A former professional ballet dancer, she has been exploring the expressive potential of movement from a young age. Her dance career instilled in her a lifelong interest in self-care and injury-prevention through a balanced regimen of maintaining flexibility and building core strength.

Kristine discovered yoga during her time in Vancouver and has been fully immersed in the art and science of practice and teaching ever since. For her, yoga provides an elegant method of focusing and integrating the elements of body, mind and spirit, all the while offering glimpses of a connection to something larger.

She seeks to provide a class experience which is empowering and intelligently-aligned while also joyful, innovative, and conducive to a sense of well-being. She draws from diverse influences including Ashtanga, Iyengar, Anusara, Sattva Yoga, Pilates, Dance, Movement Culture, Music, Philosophy, and the wisdom and creativity of her teachers.
