The Art Gallery of Alberta respectfully acknowledges that we are located in Treaty 6 Territory and Region 4 of the Metis Nation of Alberta. We respect this as the traditional and contemporary  land of diverse Indigenous Peoples including the Plains Cree, Woodland Cree, Beaver Cree, Nitsitapi/Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Anishinaabe/Saulteaux/Ojibwe and Dene Peoples. We also acknowledge the many Indigenous, Inuit and Métis people who make Alberta their home today.

Vision Exchange Community Tour #2 (Jas Panesar)

6-7 pm (3rd floor)
Maximum tour capacity 30 people

Join us at the AGA for a series of tours of Vision Exchange: Perspectives from India to Canada led by Edmonton community members.

The Community Tour series present visitors with unique perspectives on the stories and history told in the exhibition. Partners include local performance artists Rebecca John and Ashna Jacob, community member Jas Panesar and ASSIST Community Services Centre.

This evening we are thrilled to be welcoming active volunteer Jas Panesar to lead our second community tour, focusing on the recently opened exhibition Vision Exchange: Perspectives from India to Canada. Because everyone has a story to tell!

Jas Panesar is an Edmonton born and raised professional working in the technology and startup field. Jas was raised in a Sikh-Canadian family originally, from both present day India and Pakistan. He has spent much of his life learning through the experience of storytelling—both his own story and the ones of others, who experienced the Partition of India and as a result live away from their homeland.
