The Art Gallery of Alberta respectfully acknowledges that we are located in Treaty 6 Territory and Region 4 of the Metis Nation of Alberta. We respect this as the traditional and contemporary  land of diverse Indigenous Peoples including the Plains Cree, Woodland Cree, Beaver Cree, Nitsitapi/Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Anishinaabe/Saulteaux/Ojibwe and Dene Peoples. We also acknowledge the many Indigenous, Inuit and Métis people who make Alberta their home today.

Turbulent Landings: The 2017 NGC Canadian Biennial Community Tour | Newcomers are Lit

Newcomers are Lit Community Tour

Join us at the AGA on Tuesday, October 10 at 6 pm for this month's free Community Tour of Turbulent Landings: The 2017 NGC Canadian Biennial  led by Edmonton community members.

Newcomers Are Lit is the Edmonton chapter of the Canadian Council for Refugees Youth Network. We are a group of youth leaders and mentors, who work and share stories together with the hopes of improving the community in which we live.  We have facilitated workshops locally and throughout Canada utilizing fun and engaging arts-based activities that address important social issues. We have regular meetings at scheduled spaces to do better for our cause, while also attending community events and workshops to improve ourselves both as a group and individually. We believe that youth have the ability and strength to make a great change for the future.
