This special series is inspired by artists featured in AGA exhibitions this summer, who took to new environments to paint outdoors, or en plein air. Meeting in a different location each time, this Summer Sketch Series offers guided opportunity to observe the Edmonton area from a new perspective as a subject for your sketch. Take a look online for more details and information.
Join artist and AGA Educator, Roger Garcia, in an afternoon of plein-air painting inspired by the artwork featured in our exhibition, William Townsend: Painting Alberta, Details of Canada. William Townsend painted many urban landscapes familiar scenery from everyday life in Canadian cities and towns including Edmonton. From the patio of Downtown Edmonton’s Nook café you can observe and paint a variety of vistas under the guidance of our experienced educator.
Join us at The Nook Café at 2 pm on June 16th. Bring your favourite canvas and paints or use some of the basic material we’ll have available for you. Please reserve your free ticket here (link) to guarantee your spot.
