The Art Gallery of Alberta is honoured to host a Blanket Exercise facilitated by RISE – Reconciliation in Solidarity Edmonton. Join us for this powerful learning experience that addresses Canada’s colonial history and the enduring resilience of Indigenous peoples. Participants stand on blankets that represent the land and walk through Canada’s history from an Indigenous perspective. The exercise engages critically and emotionally with our shared history, encouraging empathy and understanding. We will end the exercise with conversation and shared reflection. This program is held in conjunction with StretchMark: A New Chapter Acquisition Project. Participants will receive AGA admission passes (one per person.) Please note that this program requires a minimum commitment of 2 – 3 hours. This program requires a minimum of 20 participants to take place and has a maximum of 40 spaces. Please pre-register online or at Guest Services. About RISE RISE - Reconciliation in Solidarity Edmonton is a group of citizens in the Edmonton region committed to supporting reconciliation in words & actions. |
