Join us at the AGA on Tuesday evenings at 6pm for a series of tours of Past Imperfect: A Canadian History Project led by Edmonton community members.
Luciana Erregue-Sacchi is a Canadian-Argentinian MA in Art History from the University of Alberta (2016). Luciana’s areas of research include the politics of canon formation, official portraiture of the Americas, the politics of museum display, and performances of spectatorship. Prior to her graduate work, Luciana studied Law in her native Argentina and was a bilingual art educator at the AGA between the years 2004-2005 and 2010-2012.
In this community tour, Luciana proposes to engage with the works on display as an active spectator by summoning into her “walk” other images and texts, expanding the canon of Canadian Art into the realm of art as lived experiences and memory. Part tour, part performance, this event proposes to look beyond the paintings into the realm of spectatorship in today’s multicultural society.
