The Art Gallery of Alberta respectfully acknowledges that we are located in Treaty 6 Territory and Region 4 of the Metis Nation of Alberta. We respect this as the traditional and contemporary  land of diverse Indigenous Peoples including the Plains Cree, Woodland Cree, Beaver Cree, Nitsitapi/Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Anishinaabe/Saulteaux/Ojibwe and Dene Peoples. We also acknowledge the many Indigenous, Inuit and Métis people who make Alberta their home today.

Hello, My Name is Art | Hubert Hohn: Edmonton Entrances and Suburban Landscapes

Untitled (Edmonton Entrances), 1974. Cibachrome print. Art Gallery of Alberta Collection, Commissioned through a grant from The Museums Assistance Programmes of the National Museums of Canada. The prints were made possible through grants from The Alberta Historical Resources Foundation and the Women's Society.

In this edition of Hello, My Name is Art we invite you to join us in the exhibition Hubert Hohn: Edmonton Entrances and Suburban Landscapes for a deep looking session focused on the photographic series of doorways and entrances of Edmonton homes.

Hello, My Name is Art is a new program focused on close looking and collaborative learning. Getting to know a work of art is like getting to know a new friend – sometimes it is love at first sight and sometimes it takes time, the right questions and a little bit of patience to understand one another. Spend time getting to know one artwork in hour long introductory sessions with AGA staff. Learn how to improve your looking skills and what questions to ask of any artwork and of yourself

This session will be led by Head of Education and Learning at the Art Gallery of Alberta, Dara Armsden.
