The Art Gallery of Alberta respectfully acknowledges that we are located in Treaty 6 Territory and Region 4 of the Metis Nation of Alberta. We respect this as the traditional and contemporary  land of diverse Indigenous Peoples including the Plains Cree, Woodland Cree, Beaver Cree, Nitsitapi/Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Anishinaabe/Saulteaux/Ojibwe and Dene Peoples. We also acknowledge the many Indigenous, Inuit and Métis people who make Alberta their home today.

Alberta Culture Days at your AGA

Sponsored by
#ABCultureDays

Join us on the weekend of September 29–30, 2018  for free admission and exciting programming that the entire family can enjoy!

All Weekend

On the Spot Activity!

Join a 10 minute art chat led by our knowledgeable Gallery Attendants, every hour during Alberta Culture Days! During your visit, look for the “On the Spot” signs in each exhibition, and return at the scheduled time for a pop-up conversation about a different, specific artwork.

James Wilson Morrice

James Wilson Morrice was a pioneer artist who played a vital role in advancing modern artistic trends in Canada and abroad at the turn of the 20th century. As an expatriate in Paris, Morrice became the first Canadian artist to archive an international reputation.

Participate in this scavenger-like activity travel activity in the exhibition " James Wilson Morrice: The A.K. Prakash Collection in Trust to the Nation" and wander through the artist’s timeless recollection of landscapes and atmospheres to search for clues. Bon voyage!

AGA volunteers will be facilitating the activity in the second floor gallery for Alberta Culture Days.
