The Art Gallery of Alberta respectfully acknowledges that we are located in Treaty 6 Territory and Region 4 of the Metis Nation of Alberta. We respect this as the traditional and contemporary  land of diverse Indigenous Peoples including the Plains Cree, Woodland Cree, Beaver Cree, Nitsitapi/Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Anishinaabe/Saulteaux/Ojibwe and Dene Peoples. We also acknowledge the many Indigenous, Inuit and Métis people who make Alberta their home today.

What’s ahead this month at your AGA

Experience all your AGA has to offer this summer. This June, we invite you to get curious about art with the opening of two new exhibitions: Gretzky is Everywhere and Past Imperfect: A Canadian History Project.

Take part in a virtual experience with Gretzky is Everywhere, where Andy Warhol’s famous print Wayne Gretzky #99 and art institutions across Canada are linked by live stream. Then explore Past Imperfect to learn about stories of people, places and events that have shaped Canada over the past 150 years, with artwork from the AGA’s permanent collection. Your AGA offers special programming and education classes connected to these exhibitions.

Enjoy a musical treat! Join us for the June edition of Vibe and take advantage of these long summer nights with live music, tapas and drinks.

Fill your summer with art! Your AGA offers a wide range of fun ArtBreak camps, designed to connect students 6-12 with art and ideas. From learning about animation and story development to working in an art studio at then on-site at the Edmonton Valley Zoo, there will never be a dull moment for creative minds.

Visit new exhibitions, enjoy programming and grow your artistic talents this summer at your AGA.
