The Art Gallery of Alberta respectfully acknowledges that we are located in Treaty 6 Territory and Region 4 of the Metis Nation of Alberta. We respect this as the traditional and contemporary  land of diverse Indigenous Peoples including the Plains Cree, Woodland Cree, Beaver Cree, Nitsitapi/Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Anishinaabe/Saulteaux/Ojibwe and Dene Peoples. We also acknowledge the many Indigenous, Inuit and Métis people who make Alberta their home today.

The Art Gallery of Alberta is happy to welcome approximately 5,000 visitors every year on Canada Day with the support of our volunteers! This day offers free admission for all and some art activities for children to partake in.

In order to be able to welcome this many visitors in one day, we rely on the support of volunteers to manage the capacity of visitors in gallery spaces, to help welcome guests and open doors at the front of the building, and to help people find their way through the building. W

Be part of an exciting day at your AGA in celebration of Canada Day! If you’re interested and available for one of the shifts listed above, please contact volunteer.services@youraga.ca or call 780-392-2486.

See you then!
