The Community Exhibition Program connects the Art Gallery of Alberta with community groups in the Edmonton area who are interested in curating exhibitions and are in need of a venue. The program is undertaken in a spirit of collaboration, openness and knowledge sharing. The Community Gallery space features up to five exhibitions per year on display for approximately 3 to 8 weeks at a time.
Previous Community Exhibition partners: the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services, the Alberta Council for the Ukrainian Arts, ‘5 Artists, 1 Love,’ and Leduc Composite High School.
The AGA’s Programming and Engagement Coordinator will provide selected community groups with guidance and advice, as needed, regarding the curatorial process, as well as support for the installation and strike of the exhibition. The AGA will also provide a space for an opening reception. For more information on the roles and responsibilities of the exhibiting community organization and the AGA, please contact us through email@example.com.
To qualify, organizations must be non-profits working within the Edmonton area. Submissions from individual artists will not be accepted.
